It is the most charming neighborhood in Barcelona. There are old palaces, medieval churches, small squares and incredible stories everywhere. More than 2,000 years of history are concentrated in the Gothic Quarter. It is not very big, but labyrinthic, and you can easily get lost in its charming narrow streets. Forget about google maps and don’t waste your time. Enjoy your vacation, and let me work for you.

The Columbus monument is one of the symbols of Barcelona, but did you know that it does not point to America?

Walking along the Ramblas or visiting the Boqueria Market is a must, and all tourist do. But with me, you can go further and see at what many people do not look. You will understand the true essence of the Gothic Quarter, the heart of Barcelona.

47. GOTHIC La Boqueria market
We like to say that if you don't find the ingredient you are looking for at La Boqueria, it's because it doesn't exist!
Las Ramblas Barcelona, gothic quarter. Private tour. barcelona old town
The Ramblas hide a thousand stories, legends, and anecdotes. Strolling along Barcelona's most famous boulevard is a classic.

It is often surprising how such a small neighborhood is so full of stories and monuments: The Cathedral, the Roman wall, the Temple of Augustus, the Palau Reial Major, the Palau de la Generalitat, the Plaça Reial, the Jewish Call… The Gothic quarter is a labyrinth of narrow streets and delightful corners. In the same place, the Roman past, Medieval churches, and Modernist buildings are mixed.

This is undoubtedly the most famous photograph of the Gothic Quarter. Ironically, this bridge is not gothic.
Plaça del Rei on the Gothic Quarter, Barcelona medieval.
Be careful, this is the Plaça del rei, not the Plaça reial. The names are confusing, but they are very different.

The itinerary is made at your pace and according to your interests. There is so much to explain that the route can be adapted to almost any subject: architecture, history, cinema, literature, gastronomy, trade, or legends, for example. I’ll show you the places we, Barcelonians, go. Tapas bars, century-old stores, artisan workshops, art galleries, our customs, and traditions.

The fountain and the street lamps of Plaça Reial, the Gothic Quarter, Barcelona.
This is the Plaça reial. In addition to the beautiful fountain, there are two street lamps by Gaudí. Have you already seen one?

Don't miss the most characterful sights. The Gothic Quarter private tour is the best choice if you want to discover Barcelona's old town, the coolest places to eat tapas, buy artisan products in centuries-old shops, and enjoy the city like a local.

It is the historical center of Barcelona: from Plaza Catalunya to the Columbus Monumen, and from Las Ramblas to Via Laietana.

The nearest beach is in the Barceloneta neighborhood, about 15 minutes walking.

The Gothic Quarter is just another neighborhood in Barcelona and has no opening hours. You can visit it at night, and it is safe, like the rest of the city. Violent crime is almost non-existent, but pickpockets are common in crowded tourist areas.

All my tours are accessible for people with walking issues or wheelchair.

Absolutely, you can add extra hours, or choose to do a full day tour.

The price of the Gothic Quarter Private tour is starting at 210€. The prices are for your total party, not per person. Entrance fees or other extra expenses (like food, drinks, or transport) are not included. Because each visit is customized contact me for a precise budget.
